PART I:
Use the links on this page to write a 2-3 paragraph essay about black holes. Your essay must answer at least FOUR of the questions below. CIRCLE the questions that you choose here. You should take notes for your essay as you explore the website.

PART II:

Choose and complete one of the “Astronomy” Experiments:
A.How can a star become a black hole?
a.Read the background information. Take notes that will help you answer the question above.
b.Make a hypothesis that answers this question: What mass does a star have to have to turn into a black hole?
c.Test your hypothesis by changing the mass of your stars and clicking “Show Stellar Fate.” Keep track of your data (mass of star, what it turns into).
d.Analyze your data and write a conclusion that answers your hypothesis.
e.Finally, research and answer one of the “Related Questions.”
B.What happens when I fall into a black hole?
a.Read the background information. Take notes that will help you answer the question above.
b.Make a hypothesis: What do you think will happen to you when you fall into the black hole?
c.“Fall in” to the black hole. Write down a description of what happens.
d.Write a conclusion: Was your hypothesis correct? What did you data tell you?
e.Finally, research and answer one of the “Related Questions.”
